ME! You're right!

After some 2500 miles of beautiful America, as high as 9000ft, and through 8 states, I've made the move from Oregon to Michigan.

I'm so excited to be in a new home, with a new wife to be, and with a new future at the age of 54 I can't hardly stand to be with myself!

So, despite my pen turning stuff all being in storage for now as we adjust Maxine's life to meld with mine...things are oh so good!

Bring on the snow and ice, I'm ready!

Doug, it does my heart good to hear that someone is getting exactly what they deserve/want.
i've been close to Michigan and I've been in Washington....i can't, for the live of me, understand living in the northwest. all the gloomy rain all year long. there's a reason folks in Seattle are such coffee nuts....they need it to fight off the gloom. Michigan will bring you changes in seasons.....enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh come on, you are exaggerating it a bit.

I will keep the supposed rain and gloom to avoid 9 months of snow, ice and cold.

Good luck. Michigan is very nice in some areas - especially when you leave the greater Detroit area. We lived there for seven years from 1999 to 2006.
We normally had snow on the ground from early/ mid December until end of February or early March.
The Woodcraft store in Canton was great, was sad to leave my friends there - here in NJ there is no Woodcraft. The benefit of moving to MI is right now that you can pick up a house for a song.

Hey,thanks all.

It is hard to beat the nw, even with the rain and gloom, but I'm ready for a change after 14 years in Oregon...and I have lived in the snow and cold after a short visit to Calgary and Edmonton when young.

Oh, and we are in the Novi, MI area...wherever that is!

Novi? Great, when you get there, we'll have to meet up at Woodcraft, not too far away from you in Canton. Welcome, and let us know when you are in town. I'm not too far away.

Congratulations on your move and your new life. I hope you enjoy Michigan. My best friend lives in Ann Arbor and I visit often. It is a very beautiful place. I really like it a lot. Lots of wood being trimmed from trees. Have fun
