Spent a good part of today grinding Cursive Italic Nibs. I am going to bring them to Provo and let them sample the nibs and get some feed back. They came out real good and I like them, but that is a partial decission:)

I pretty much did the gamet of nibs, I started with some Berea bold nibs and then a couple of mediums, then did a few steel Statesmen bold, then started in on my gold nibs. So there is a pretty good selection.

Anthony! Dang! Now I really wish I could be there! I would love to give those a spin. I only have one Cursive italic nib, and I find it to be interesting, but I think the corners are too sharp for my liking, making me write slower than I'm used to. But it does make my writing look so much nicer! [8D]

Have fun!

Scott.

Scott, I to had a cursive italic with real sharp corners. Take some 600 grit wet/dry and gently hit the edges and then some MM on the edges. That should solve your problem and you should be able to swing the nib without catching. I ground these that way with soft edges so you can swing the nib.

I guess I could grind a music nib. Basically, a music nib is a braod italic nib, with an increased angle, so the musician can write while sitting at his piano. Some music nibs will have 2 or 3 tines to support a heavy ink flow. This I can not due. It would be a single tine. But Sailor uses a single tine on their music nibs, which I carry in the store.
