Am I correct in thinking the bag on the left replaces the bag on the right? I read on previous posts that the screw in was an upgrade to the press fit in the old kit. Looks like they just added the new parts in the old bags?

I'm glad you asked the questions. I have some of both versions, but the set of V2 I have has only V2 parts.

The V2 instructions show the cap nut assembly. The instructions say the cap nut and cap come assembled, but that is not the case in the set of 8 I have.

If you need measurements of which threaded insert goes in which end, let me know.

I like this style because the nib and click end diameter runs just a bit less than a slimline. I've been successful using a 3/8" square blank from resin pour leftovers that I would otherwise toss as waste.

My one gripe with the V1 press-in click cap was the clip had a tendency to spin. Perhaps the V2 allows for a firmer hold.

I see PSI has multiple platings on sale at a further discount. Perhaps these are V1 stock they are trying to clear.

So there is the deal with the Grove pen kit.
First generation was to have the clip holder cap pressed in. the upper tube, problem is the click is screwed in and becomes loose and you can 't tighten. Then they released the second generation where the clip holder cap is screwed into the upper tube end nut now this allows you to remove clip holder and tighten the click.

upper photo is first generation, lower its current generation

Thanks, I'm glad I'm not alone in my issue. I was able to determine which was the cap nut and which was the barrel nut by screwing them on the appropriate part. As I recall they didn't interchange as the threads were different. It's unsettling to finish assembling a pen and find one part still on the tray.
