I've been keeping an eye on this thread, hoping there would be some more clarification on whether this pot is decent. Is being a steel a good thing or bad? I've been considering the HF pot, but have read some horror stories, would this be a better buy? Hopefully you much more experienced casters will have some help for a casting noob.
Thanks!
Dan

Dan, You never hear about the good HF Paint Pot stories. I have been casting in mine for more than a year and love it......

I don't know about the Grizzly quality. I can only imagine that it may be better by a little bit. It looks much better built.

Fred,

I just bought one and it came in yesterday. I may need to come over this weekend and test it out.

Max pressure 45lb. Isn't that a concern? I thought most used around 50lb pressure to cast. I haven't done any casting yet just asking. I have a Devilbiss I picked up off CL a couple weeks ago. Haven't got it set up yet,

I am using the HF pot with excellent results, no issues. I used Stevepens article to make my presure/vacuum pot and have casted a number of blanks. It was even a great excuse to go back to Pueblo, Co. where my favorie HF store is. Good luck!

You go from Cali to Co just to go to HF? I know there are bunches of HF's in Cali... I used to go to one by Cypress College.

HF has a 25% coupon for New Years day only!
Call your local store about the discount for one day only discount...
Drops the price 79.99 x -25%(19.99) = $60.00 with no extended protection plan but a good price.

To quote the ad in the December 2010 Woodworker's Journal:

"Purchase at one of our 3 showrooms:
Present this coupon to the cashier to receive your discount."

So, if you have this magazine, bring it in and get your discount. The code is WWJ5 for internet and phone orders. So, if you don't have the magazine, sit outside the store with your cell phone, call them and use the code
