Hi all, Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am a 911/Emergency services dispatcher in the Capital District region of Upstate NY. My job comes with a lot of... well, we'll just call them "stressors". I've always enjoyed building and crafting as a way to help clear my head. Late last year, I took up pen turning, which turned (pun intended) out to be a great way to decompress. I've been learning bits of the craft here and there from facebook groups, youtube videos and books and I've successfully turned a handful of pens that I think came out pretty nice. I tend to be kind of a "hobby hopper", but I can definitely see myself sticking with this for a long time to come. Looking forward to learning from the immense amount of skill and talent here, and someday being able to pay it forward. Thanks for including me here.

it's a great way to de-stress and heavens knows we need that these days. I also recommend dog ownership !!!

Hey Louie, I'm in Scotia, lifelong resident and also a graduate of SGHS '90. And before the County consolidated Dispatch Services, I was Dispatching out of Glenville PD.
