New to pen turning but enjoy it a lot. A bit expensive to get started since I did not even have a lathe but I'm all set up and have done 5 pens so far. Using my drill press and disk sander rather than the speciality tools right now.

Welcome from just up the road in Round Rock. Some of the specialty tools might not actually make things easier/better. Use what works for you and use the money saved on kits and blanks!
