Hello! I am an avid fountain pen enthusiast with aspirations of creating my own.

As a much younger person, I was introduced to woodturning, and enjoyed it a great deal. It has been years since I turned anything, but as my interest in pens has grown, I've gotten the urge to pick it back up and "give it a go."

I was led here by an article by one of your members, and hope to learn much, and produce many!

Hope everyone's holiday season is going well, and will hopefully have an opportunity to interact with you more in coming days!

I too live in Yuma, Great to see someone else with like interest here. I also enjoy making pens among other things, maybe we could share info sometime, I may get a chance to learn something. Welcome to IAP, great group with a wealth of information and always willing to help.

Greetings from Nebraska and welcome to the IAP community. I just love Ironwood from the Sonoran Desert, it is among my very top favorite woods to work with. I think it would make stellar fountain pens. - Dave

Welcome! Many years ago, stopped in Yuma for dinner. Was directed to a Mexican restaurant that was formerly a gas station. Dining was in the old bays. Had things in the menu that I had never heard of! Very good.

It's funny you mention Ironwood, as my father (just retired, for the 3rd time) just sourced a cut up Ironwood stump. We are going to take a swing at some resin work with it...and I may get a few pen blanks out of it in the process.
