I have dabbled in woodworking since a kid, but recently decided to try pen turning about two months ago. My goal is to focus on using local wood as much as possible (birch, spruce, cherry, tamarack, etc.). I look forward to learning how to get better and would appreciate any tips or advice!

Welcome Wayne. And you should be able to sell native wood pens in your area to the tourist that go though there. I was one (a tourist) passing through in'06. Our 8 year old grandson was with us then. Even though he is an adult now, he still talks about North Pole, Alaska.

What ever questions you have, just ask away. This is a question friendly forum.

Welcome from Utah Wayne!

It has been a while (10-15 years) but I passed through North Pole, AK a number of times on my way to and from Ft. Greely where we were doing some work. Beautiful drive. I have to say, the weather out there in February isn't my favorite though... 🥶
