Hello Pen Turning Community! I've been lurking on this site for awhile getting up the courage to start turning some pens. After 2 simple projects on my cheapo Harbor Freight lathe, I decided to take the plunge into pens. I'm in the process of turning my first batch of 4 pens and I'm already hooked. This site is now my go-to source for all things pens! Great community and I'm glad to be aboard!

Hi Andy, I'm from Thornton. Been turning pens for a couple of months now. I also have a HF lathe...the 10" benchtop, and I've been pleased with it. Have fun and enjoy your new hobby.

Andy and Tim welcome and if you are free the first Tuesday of the month there is a Front Range Turners meeting at Rocklers every month and one on Thursday in Loveland at Woodcraft. On the third Thursday of the month there is a pen turners meeting at the Loveland Woodcraft it is part of the Rocky Mountain Turners guild. Hope to see you both there sometime.

Welcome! I'm a relative newbie too who also started out on a HF mini lathe. I got the sickness so bad I upgraded to a better lathe after about 6 weeks!
