Greetings all. I am new to the site and relatively new to turning.

I picked up an old junk shop smith last summer without most of the accessories. I fiddled with it for a couple months before I ran upon a used Total Shop for a good price. Now I have a HF midi lathe. Each has been a step up from the previous.

Now I use the Total Shop as a DP since it has a long quill. I gave the shopsmith to a friend hoping to help him get into the hobby. Why should I be the only one I know personally user suffers from this affliction.

The reason I list Denver and Indiana is that I am moving back to Rochester Indiana next weekend.

It would be nice to find someone in the area that I could talk shop talk with. Either learning from them or learning from each other.

Welcome from Grand Junction. A little too far to get together before your move to Indiana...Why would you move to Indiana? That's pretty much a step down (at least in elevation)
 
I agree about it being a step down. We have family there and it is only for a year + .5. Just not sure if it will be back here or Phoenix afterwards.

I have the privilege of keeping my job and working remotely while I am in Indiana.
