Hi all.
Just got a an idea in January this year that I would like to turn some pens. Never really worked with wood before. Can't wait each evening to get to my lathe and try something new. I have learned huge amounts of information from IAP members who seem to gladly share some fantastic tips and information. Thanks a million to all of you.

I include an image of my latest challenge, I am happy with the result as a first attempt. Image was taken with an Iphone, so the quality isn't great

Kind regards to all of you.
Mikie

Hiya Mike, greetings from just across the water.
Dublin is one of the very few cities that I like. I have fond memories of a few great summers in your fair city, while working at Poolbeg
I liked it so much my family even sometimes took the ferry across for a day trip.
Great pen by the way!!! :)

Hello from Monroe Michigan, beautiful pen. I have never seen a kangaroo centerband before, where is it from?
Thanks. The pen kit came from Timberbits.com in Australia. I order a few not realizing that the center bands had the kangaroos. I will probably change the kit on the pen when I get my next batch of pen kits.

Welcome to the madness. That's a great looking first pen, wish my first "turned" out that well. Are you a member of any of the Dublin Chapter's? Our Chapter meetings are held in Naas once a month. You should tag along to our next one.
