Congrats Andrew, and just a few ideas off the top of my head that will let you stay busy in the shop and make your sweetie fell oh so special.
1. you do need nice gifts for the entire wedding party. so the larger the better right?
2. Don't forget a little something for the minister, chauffeur, chef, wedding cake maker, photographer, the lady that cleans the church afterward. well you get the idea.
3. and if it all gets to being to much and you really need some mental health (Shop) time, well there are all the guests to think about.
I think that should just about cover any excuses you could need for the next 12 months.
and remember include in any suggestion that you should make another pen for anyone. "But honey, I just want that day to be perfect".
 
Congratulations Andrew! I see you aren't rushing in to anything. Start now and you'll have plenty of time to get those "turnings" done.

We just went shopping down in Grand Forks in celebration...hoping to buy a pressure pot, but didn't find one anywhere...

On the plus side, I did manage to buy a whole whack of books, and as it's my birthday soon, I may be able to get a nice new toy anyway! :)
