great plane, but I've always been a bit more partial to the F4U Corsairs than the P51s Mustangs. Maybe its the fact that I'm a Navy man.

That and the Black Sheep Squadron was standard fare in my living room.

I was always a fan of the Corsairs and P-38 Lightning's for fighter aircraft. But the P-51 was a kick-ass plane.

My personal overall favorite was the B-25 Mitchell. That is just an all-around beautiful aircraft. What they accomplished in the Doolittle Raid was little short of amazing (and if you count on any movie to give you an accurate version of what happened, you've got it wrong. The best description is from Doolittle's auto-biography, "I Could Never Be So Lucky Again." Suggested reading for anyone who is interested.)

There are a couple of restored P-51 Mustangs based at the Kissimmee Airport here in Florida. It is about 7 miles from my house. One is named Crazy Horse. and rides are available. About $2200.00 per hour. No other plane sounds like a Mustang, and I know when one is flying nearby. Many times it will fly directly over my house at a fairly low altitude. I still get a tingle when I see and hear lt. There is a website for it called Stallion 51.

There is a restored B-25 also at the Kissimmee, Fla. Airport. Also does fly overs of my house- mostly on holidays.

I just watched the video and hated to see it end. Brings tears to your eyes knowing what this great country once was.

Very nice movie. It would have been great if he told a few stories.

My ex-wife's grandfather flew a spitfire in North Africa. He said it was the greatest time of his life and would go into details about his accounts of the war. All of his stories were riveting but the one about how he was in a dogfight and got shot down and lost his leg was particularly gripping.

Also, when I was a kid a friend of the family who was a Lancaster bomber pilot would break out the photo albums and talk about the night raids into Germany.....Amazing stories.

Thanks Tom. I've seen it before and it still is a very moving film.
Me, I'm partial to the KC-97!
