My daughter (13 yrs old) and I had an evening tonight at the mall. Dinner and a stroll. Very enjoyable. I saw the Mont Blanc store, so we wandered in to take a look. We were staring at the limited edition pens and I pointed out the price tag...$2460.00 (!!!). My daughter's eyes got enormous and she said, "Your pens are a lot nicer than that! Could you sell them for that much?!" Obviously not, but it's nice knowing I have her in my corner!

On a related note, we wandered into another store, a stationary/paper store, and there were some mass produced-type pens there made from the same 'ol exact beautiful acrylics that float by here every day. She spotted them right off and told me it was cool that I could do that. I hugged her right then and there.

I'll keep this and read it again when she turns surly in a few years!

I use that quote all the time! I think he said, "When a child turns 13 a parent should be allowed to place them in a barrel with a hole to feed 'em...when they turn 16 plug up the hole."

We also have a 17 year old son. Lord, what a difference between those two!

I used to like my Daughter until she turned 17, I still lover her more than life it's self, sometimes she's just hard to like, but other times I think how much joy and happiness she brought those first 17 years.
