I'm bettin someone's getting some cobs. HA HA. Good for them. I'm here to tell ya all, I got some from him a couple of years ago & they are the best I've ever gotten my hands on. LOML saw a red & green one in a store & wanted me to turn them. Stabilized? HA, yea except in parts on one and the last 2" on the other. Turn from "stabilized" to dry cob & it's ready for the junk. That's where they went. If Tim's still doing now how he did then, you'll love his cobs. Try em.

Thanks for the kind words. Yep, somebody is getting some cobs. My person has made cob pens before, but not with my blanks...or at least not that I recall. I'm going to try to remain secret...could be tough!

I'm still at it. I turn them myself, sometimes 20-30 at a time. I can't remember the last time I lost a cob blank on the drill press or lathe. I think I may have dropped one behind the lathe...but that doesn't count.

I tried that with my recipient and couldn't find enough info. No photos posted, so I cant even get an idea of how far advanced he/she is. I'm still trying to think of something.

It struck me as kinda funny that Tim posted that he was able to get an idea based on his recipients postings... Now whoever has Tim can 'attempt' the same thing, but won't get very far

You got me, dead on. That did occur to me as I was posting this thread. Before IAP, I spent most of my time with the Yahoo group, but did not posted very often. Better luck for Secret Santa next year.
