I am going to purchase a blank from wood off of a submarine from crash at stadium pen blanks. I found one at unique pens in U.K.. Can anyone steer me to other sources? Google was no help. Got several to make, just want everyone to get a different one. Hedging bets in cash crash doesn't get any different ones in.

I will speak to Stadium Pen Blanks.

They are a very good company and are very particular about verifying ACTUAL and LEGITMATE historical woods. This company will not take the wood from a historic item or site if it is not 100% verifiable and they research the history behind the wood in question whether it is a sports stadium or historical ship. If you need additional certificates for items made they will work with you get those as well.

You could also look at Drop Anchor Creations to see what they have. They work with Stadium Pen Blanks on the historical finds and are also a reputable company. I had gotten one of their Model-T Ford pen blank sets, very cool finished piece. The blanks are from actual Model-T wheels.

I cannot name any other sources of these things outside of what is mentioned nor can I speak to the source you found in the UK. Hope this helps.
 
Maple impregnated with a wax like substance was used (may still be) in the battery wells of nuclear submarines. They made trophy bases out of it when the boats were decommissioned and scrapped. Teak decking was used at least up to USS Nautilus SSN-571.

Yes sir, I found one blank from sleeping berths of the HMS Onyx out of U.K. teak. It would be awesome to find a piece of (spelling?) Vitae Ligum from the drive shaft bushings In early subs. Really only interested in vetted sources. Unique pens out of U.K. seems to check out if someone has a different experience please contact. Of course stadium pens is awesome. Bought from them before. Waiting on possibility of future stock
