At least for a while.
With all of the pressures of real life upon me (moving to a small apartment and starting a business), I have decided to take a break, hopefully just a few months, from penturning, except at the most casual level. I certainly will still be around the forums, at least occasionally =) I have around 200 pen kits and 800 pen blanks and a whole bunch of lumber that would be better utilized elsewhere. I will be selling all my stuff except for my actually equipment =( Although it saddens me to do so, I feel that it is the wisest use of my very limited assets at this point in time.
Although we have had a few little fights among members recently, I have still been impressed with the way things are ultimately handled. Even though we are made of individuals from a variety of religious, political, occupational, and socio-economic backgrounds, I love that the IAP family can still function as such. There is a lot to be thankful for here! Thanks everyone for the huge amount I have learned from many of you. Don't lose sight of the "family" part of things! Don't forget to thank Jeff and the moderators for all of their work here, too.
My little business will open on the 29th. Most of my wood will be sold through there and the kits will be sold through the IAP classifieds. I hope this stuff can be useful to others, especially new members. Some of the vendors here already know about this business opening, and I will leave it to them to share if they believe it is an idea worth sharing. Thank you for the advice I have received from the members here in developing it.
With that said, goodbye for now!
Sincerely,
Joel Jenkins
