Rather than try to answer your question to trash it or not, my question is have you figured out what to do different the next time? Ive never tried the circuit board blanks but with others ive found it's sometimes easier and better to start over. The main thing is you don't want the next one to look just like this so how do you fix it? So if play with that until you come up with a new plan. Sorry that's not an answer to your question but maybe it will give you another angle of attack. Good luck.

To be honest I don't know what it is. Okay circuit board. You have nothing to loose by turning it round and polishing it a little to see more clearly what you have. You don't have to assemble it into a pen.
