Going to be a "cool" summer for me.

Had enough of sweating my butt off in the shop every summer so last night I bought an AC for the shop. I thinks that I will be very "happy" when the warm weather comes. :D

Yeah, I have a big window unit on a stand that I roll to the back door of the garage and turn on. I think this year the back wall is going to get a window, then stuff that baby in!

Last year the shop was in the garage, got tired of sweating all over the tools in summer and freezing my hind end off in winter so I finally took the plunge and moved the shop to the basement. Now I can work in a nice cool environment anytime of the year.

It was worth all the sweating and cussing to get the tools/material downstairs.[8D]

A couple years ago, Our downstairs AC unit rolled over and died. When we replaced it, we had a larger unit installed and had ductwork run to our garage. Our garage shop is now comfortable year round, at least until the garage door is opened.

With that kind of unit dont you still have to run a vent hose somewhere. I dont have any windows in my garage. And when its 98 degrees outside and 100 percent humidity it gets pretty hot. So leaving a crack in the garage door would defeat my purpose.

It sure as heck does on the second floor of a vintage Mystic seaport restaurant that has no AC... (;) remembering my last trip up there...)
