So I have returned from Alaska. I have the following materials that I have not worked before. The first three were free, the last was not as expensive as it could have been:wink:

Reindeer
Caribou
Moose
Mammoth Ivory

Also before I left I got a rod of bakelite.

The ivory and bakelite should be pretty straight forward, but the others may need to be frozen before turning or the meat gets pretty stringy.

I just had some antler given to me ... and for just a second there, I thought I should put it in the freezer!:eek::biggrin:

Bakelite is finished. The ivory is drying over night then a buff. Hope to have both with me tomorrow at the pen meeting. Got a Reindeer sierra done and one of Brooks803 blanks. I wish I had more time and I am wondering if I missed spring while in Alaska for 10 days.
