Finally decided to upgrade, and decided on a Jet VS. (Surprise!) So, went shopping, and its only $299. on Amazon.com, but not yet available. Checked a lot of other places, finally finding it online at Rockler for $299, as well. And they have a store not far from me. Called the store, and its $369 there. I told him its $299 online, and he told me to bring in the ad, and he'd let me have it for the web price. So, I did, he did, and its a done deal. Also, they had a sale on 4" C-clamps--a sixpak for $9.96---and you can never have too many of those!
[the tech tip: if you find something online that costs more in the store, mention it to them--this is at least the third time I've come across a company who has a policy of honoring web prices instore.]
