This is a wonderful explanation. It turns out that I already have a 30-degree jig that fits into my bandsaw miter slot. It even has a clamp to hold the part down and an adjustable stop. I just never thought of how to use it other than to make simple segmented blanks with a diagonal cut. I am pretty sure I can use it and follow your step-by-step process.
