Now I am not a religious person in any way but my mother in law (ex actually but someone specail to me) is turning 90 next month and they are having a surprise party for her and I cannot make (bums me out). So I was talking to my wife and she said why not make her a cross which I never considered as I had thought a turning of some kind would thrill her but my wife is right always lol so I sat down with my cad and drew this up quickly and my wife loves the shape and simplicity in it so I thought I would share it with you all.
It is made of black walnut that was from an old award plaque a friend gave me as I had no black walnut in the size I needed and we thought this wood was nice. 2 coats of spray shellac to seal it and steel wooled and then 5 coats of Deft semi gloss spray. Simple but elegant I think as does my wife.
