A friend of mine is wants to get a special gift for a solider retuning home in a month. She really likes the American inlayed flag pen, but can't spend more then $50, so that is out. What is another quality suggestion?

Thanks!

Why not just get the $50 from her and you pay the rest for the flag pen? Just a thought. I like the bullet pen idea too though

I was thinking about the bullet pen.

giving her the pen at cost could be an option, but I try to make a few dollars too. If it was someone that I knew too I would be more open to something like that.

Laxerlines has them for 25% off so they are 38.00 down to 28.50 or there abouts but it on a 10.00 eb you will have 40.00 in it sell it to here for the 50.00 you will make a few $$.

Don't know, if it was ME, and its a friend, not a avg customer, I would charge her the fifty and make the Flag Pen.

1 its a friend,
2 its for a person who is giving their all.

It is well worth the cost and time. But I guess you have to ask yourself, whioch is more important, making a "few bucks" or the good feeling of doing something above and beyond, which in turn will come back to you 10 fold

While I appreciate and understand your sentiment, and agree with it, maybe he cannot afford to take a loss?

Dunno, but a simple bullet pen with a wood either commonly used for a rifle stock or from their home state goes over quite well in my experiences.

The bullet pen I made for my brother in law for Christmas was well received - miltary casing w/ steel lined bullet from PSherman, black/gold web trustone, and HUT logo finial.

Don't know if he's Army or not (but you DID say Soldier!) but Eugene "El Mostro" makes a really nice Hooah blank that looks like the Army Digital Camo...it'd go great over that bullet!
