Does anyone know of a way to get cured alumilite off the bottom of a pressure pot? Boiling water, acetone and mineral spirits are all a big "NO."

Fill it the rest of the way with alumilite, let it cure, and turn the pot off of the blank!

I have the same issue, only with PR. I am trying to make a tie dyed frisbee blank for Jerry Garcia fans! If i pour for another 15 years or so i should have one blank!!!

When it isw time to remove my frsbee blank, I would flip the pot upside down and gently beat the daylights out of it with a rubber mallot or dead blow hammer. A few good smacks should at least begin the seperation process where you could get a knife under maybe? I dunno..

What you mean "Off the bottom?"

Didn't you remember to put your molds into some type of protective container first.

No really, I have used a plastic ice cream container, about 2.5 gallons size, and it works perfectly. Any spills, boil overs, etc, simply peel right off. When the time comes and I need another one I just finish off yet another 2.5 gallons of my favorite Fudge Ripple, wash it clean, and I'm good to go for another bit of time.

OK! I will spray with mold release once I get this stuff off, I promise!

I have Shady Glen Ice Cream about 10 minutes from my house. They make it there. They only have 1/2 gallon containers, but that's good enough for me!:tongue::tongue:

John, THANK YOU. I just went out and torched the bottom of my pressure pot, and the alumilte scraped off like silly putty! YAHOO! No damage to the pot either. Took me about 5 minutes.

The torch worked!

Couple hard wacks with a hammer should free the alumilite. It is stuck but not really. The inside of the pot is teflon. Just wack the alumilite and then flip the pot over it should fall right out.
