Do you like meeting other turners, woodworkers, and artists? Well, here's another opportunity.

Saturday, April 28th I'd like to invite y'all to our home for a day of fun, food, and turning with Ron McIntire, famed artist of McKinney Pens.

This is a family oriented event, so bring your better half, your kids, or just come alone if that's your way.

This opportunity just evolved yesterday so we haven't come up with a formal plan yet but that's okay; I'm a spontaneous person at times.
I envision some turning, a demo or two, lots of show 'n tell, maybe some swap'n'sell or trading and I'd expect good southern home cookin'.

My home is just outside McIntosh, FL -- halfway between Gainesville and Ocala, FL -- roughly 1-1/2 miles west of US 441.

Please post if you'd like to attend and I'll send directions.

Looking forward to meeting those of you who can attend.

Cheers,
Gary

Gary,

You are in for a treat. Ron (as crazy as he is [}:)]) is a fun person to be with. Just be quick...he throws some smart comments fast at you [;)]. The energy of that guy is unbelievable. A very sincere guy, I am proud to call my friend [^].

You stay safe and have lots of fun!

I too wish I could attend, but the rest of us Texans wil allow Ron to represent us. We could not find a better penmaker to represent the Texas delegation here on IAP. Be sure to have Ron share all of his slimline secrets your group. I do hope your meeting is as much fun as we have at the bubbasville meeting in N. Texas.
Do a good turn daily!
Don

Gary, I will try and make it, but no promises at this time, I'll let you know. It is about 330 miles from my house to yours, so I will have to get a kitchen pass from my wife. The exit off I-75 to your house, is it the exit where "WE BARE IT ALL"?[:D]

Very funny Don....Actually tomorrow there will be a slim...l....i...n...e in my display case! It just won't look like it.

We're lookin' forward to havin' Ron visit us. James, the truth is always funniest and so, yes -- from the panhandle, our exit is plagued with signs for "We Bare All" from Cafe Risque. Bring the LOYL, they advertise "Couples Welcome" too. [}:)] [:D] [)]

"It's a pleasure to meet you."

How often do we say this automatically? Well, when you MEET RonMc the PLEASURE is just beginning. He is an entertaining conversationalist who is also remarkably well informed about penmaking. (I assume he reads a lot.)

After about 15 minutes of conversation, Ron and I were pretty comfortable with each other, cracking wise and really sharing a mutual respect. If you CAN get to see him, it is really worth the trip.

Please don't tell Ron I said anything nice about him, tho'. Don't want to ruin our rapport.[;)][;)][;)][;)]

I didn't get the time I would have liked (that will be different at the next MPG!!!) to talk with Ron but what little I did, I have to agree with Ed, Ron is a pleasure to speak with. All Ican say is for the events he attends is for those who get the chance, pull as much turning knowledge from him that you can!

Florida? Let's see.....Yep I'll be in the area!
I look forward to meeting everyone in Florida and attending the North Florida Bubbasville!
I'm trying to set the record for attending the most national Bubbasville groups to date.[;)]
I believe this will wrap it up.[:D]

Jeff (founder of Bubbasville) do I win anything?
