The United Freedom Ride For Kids took place this past Sunday, there was a great turn out even though we expected more, somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 bikes, and more bikers. It was for a great cause and I suggest anyone who is able to help to do so with their local organizations. One thing you learn getting involved in something like this is; No matter how bad you think you have it, there’s always someone who has it worse.
Here’s a few pics from the ride. The weather cooperated and it was a decent 50 degrees. We got screwed by the local cops because they didn’t lead us down a few back streets like they were supposed to, lots of kids were on their porches waving, we would have liked to have driven through the neighborhoods. They did, however, shut down our main road and let us through. They didn’t even do that for the local Christmas parade, so I guess that says something.
There will be a smaller ride coming up this Sat, the first one we’ve had for this cause. Hopefully they’ll be a good turnout, I’ll try to get some better pics of it. Someone saw a flyer my dad (JicJac) had in a bar, the guy cut him a $500 check on the spot!

We’re getting close to Christmas, try to spread it around to those who may not be able to have one. There’s plenty of local causes and every little bit helps!
My bike: 750 Virago slowly being chopped:
Some of the bikers filtering in, there were a LOT of people!
Early on with the gift collecting. Both sides of the room (one blocked by my mom) were filled as well as boxes we moved outside. This is in addition to the normal ‘Toys for Tots’ ride that was organized a few weeks back.
