My name is Dave and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. About 5 years ago, I came across the hobby of pen turning by checking out the internet. I marked it as one of the hobbies I would be able to tackle once I retired. An unscheduled illness forced me to finish work earlier than planned. Now I am into pen turning along with my other hobbies, G Scale trains, Scroll sawing, Gardening and General woodworking.
I am looking forward to picking the brains of all on this forum to gain new skills in my latest venture.

Before anyone else tells you, I will be the bad guy.
The Library here is probally have the answer to 90% of the questions you may have.
Be sure to check it out. I always find new things there of interest.

With that being said.......YOU have found the best place anywhere on the internet for pen turning.
Just ask and I am sure someone will have an answer for you.
(Now if it is the right answer, will be open for debate)

Hi stonepecker, Thanks for the welcome and I have beaten you to it. I have already spent a couple of hours checking out the Library and I have found many useful articles towards helping me in this hobby.
The reason I joined IAP is, I have done my homework and the results were...IAP is the best site towards Pen Turning.
I will also use the same methods to filter through the information I get before I use it towards making pens.
I am a beginner with only 2 months experience and I have turned around 100 pens up-to date.

Hey George you do know me. I came to your place around 2 months ago and spent some time with you and left with lots of info and blanks to get me under way.
Thanks for your welcome. I remember you mentioned you were a member of IAP and it has taken me this long to check it out. Thanks mate.

G,day Dave Yeh mate this is the place to be. I am new to IAP as well and I have picked up a few tips and tricks and made some friends as well.
South oz is nice but but Sydney my home any way welcome
