Couldn't watch the blow-out any longer, so went into shop and turned this Cigar Click in African Blackwood. Finish is 2 coats of Mylands Cellulose Sanding Sealer, hand rubbed after each coat, followed by 3 coats of Pen's Plus, again hand rubbed after each coat. This was much more satisfying than watching what is arguably the WORST defense in the SEC.

Comments are always appreciated.

Nice pen, Don ....... BUT ......

...... but ...... the black ring at the nib is on backwards !!

Hope it's not too late to fix it !!! 😁 🥵

BTW ... what a rout that game was !!!

Yup you passed the test; it is on backwards. Noticed it after I made the post. On these Rizheng kits, the decorative ring on the pen nib is not threaded, it just slips on, so, when either it sells or I need to change the refill, I'll turn it around properly.

Another Yup, and that wasn't even the game I was watching - it was the LSU-Auburn game. Not even sure I'll turn on the games next week.

Great Looking Pen. Sorry about LSU. You just watched the wrong SEC game. A&M won. I'm down in Houston visiting our son. I went to the UofH game and they didn't do much either. Tonight I'm watching the Cowboys and Eagles. Both teams aren't doing well but maybe it will be intertwining. Like Pee Wee football. The players aren't that good so there should be some action. Ha Ha I saw this and thought it was funny.

Thanks Kenny.

Enjoy your visit with your son. Throw something on the grill, and enjoy!

There's so much wrong with Andy offering Dak an ice cream while both are laid up. 😋😭😫🥳

I took your advice. The steaks are done waiting on the Mac and Cheese. We have a few green beans so we can be healthy. This is an early dinner so we can have the Velveeta Cheese Dip while watching the Cowboys. Regardless of the outcome of the game the food will be awesome.

Sorry I don't know what happened with the double post. I couldn't find a way to delete this one so I'm editing it to apologize for the duplicate.

Nice pen. Where did you get the kit? I haven't seen a cigar click in quite a while. And if I may be so bold, you need to either change the lighting in your photos, and/or lighten them in some sort of editing software. I can't even see the grain in the dark photos. I lightened them with PhotoScape, and they're a little better. Are you using your phone camera in flash mode? I've found with my phone, sometimes using the flash will darken the whole image, for some reason.

Christopher, thanks for looking and commenting.

As for the kit, I don't believe they are generally available any more. The kit is, I believe, a Rizheng; I bought 5 of these from someone here on IAP about a year or more ago. At one time Craft Supplies USA had some similar Click Cigar, but they too are no longer available.
You could make a similar pen by using a Slimline Pro - 8 mm tube, I think, uses a Parker-type refill like the Cigar.
Post pics if you do. Good turning to you.

Craft Supply USA has a click cigar. Is it still a one piece pen or does it screw together in the middle? With a 27/64" tube that would make a nice single body pen. I just looked it up and it looks like the same kit only with a click mechanism on top. I've made modified cigars but I wasn't pleased with the play on the bottom. This might be a better way.

It's a pity about the demise of the Click Cigar.

It might be still available from Dayacom, but I haven't found any vendor who stocks it.

This link might be cause for hope .... but who knows if it is still an active product.

QQuake, thanks for the tip. I am many things, perhaps, a photographer I definitely am not! I'll take some time tomorrow and try to play with some of your suggestions. Thank you for giving me some direction.

As I said, I bought 5 kits from a fellow whose name I cannot recall. Had them for over a year and every now and again wondered what in the world I was going to do with them.

The Long Wood click pen from Rockler is similar. Drilling them out was a pain, but these turned out okay. They are zircote and olivewood.

@magpens @cseymour @qquake and anyone else interested in Click Cigar kits. AliExpress.com has the Rizheng Click Cigar pen kits on their web site - google Rizheng Click Cigar Pen kits. They are $2 and change, with $5 and change shipping. If you are interested.
