So maybe some would say I'm over my head. ahha I'm building a pressure/vac pot that would be similar to the harbor freight one. (it looks identical I just picked mine up int he local hardware store).

So I go with a list to get the fittings and I can't even get past the first item 4 1/4 nipples. She looks at me and asks me what type? I'm thinking what the... I'm standing there like an idiot thinking the one that isn't on my chest type? haha

Anyways she explained to me how there are 4 different options that you can have with the reverse ends (she had letters for them). And I explained to her that I didn't have a clue. :p

Does anyone know what size one would need? is there a constant "type" for a pneumatic system or something??

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you,

Ryley

Sketch your system out, showing each fitting and pipe nipple, gage's and valves. Also take a picture of the lid to your pot showing the starting point. Take that with you to the hardware store and they can help you get the right stuff.

Instead of just a sketch, just take the top of the pot to the hardware store along with the sketch of what you want to do. Then just get the fittings you need and test fit everything before leaving the store.

were the abbreviations - MIP, FIP, NPT?

Male iron pipe, female iron pipe, national pipe thread
