Hi,

I had a great day today, I spent the day at the local art gallery that hosts some of my works. I have enjoyed my experience with this gallery and I really like the owner. Today she had an all day event called Open Galley. She wanted to create a “meet my artists†environment, so she had her sculptor, a painter, a photographer, a chocoliatier, a jazz pianist, myself and all catered by a local well known restaurant. It was busy all day and it was a lot of fun. My sales were good as it was for others. I met a lot of fine people and enjoyed explaining my work, made a lot of good contacts as well.

At the end of the day the owner spoke with me and presented the opportunity for her to represent my work not only in the gallery but also on her web sales. That was very unexpected but I am very happy she asked. The owner is very well known locally and she works very hard to promote her artists. I did not know this but she actually spoke about me and my work the other day on a local radio station in a promotional interview for today’s event. I have agreed to sell my pens that are above a certain price point (Jr Gent’s and Up).

It will be interesting to see how the web sales go, but she does well with other items on her site so I know there will be many more eyes seeing my work.

This all came from a cold call I made on her back in August, sometimes you just have to try, you don’t know what might come of your efforts, I feel very privileged to have made this connection. I hope this inspires some of you to try.

That's great Jim. It certainly shows the power of cold calling. But the key thing is to have a great product or the best cold calling in the world doesn't do anything. Hope it continues to go upward for you. I love your work(wo)man's ship. :D:D

Good for you Jim!:D Your story has inspired me to be more diligent with my marketing strategy. At times it is frustrating cold calling, but I can see that it does pay off at times.
