I think it's some great casting Les. the feathers are beautiful, on Either the Sierra Elegant beauties or the real Dayacom Elegant beauties those should be gorgeous pens

OK Les this is the Casting thread not the show off your pens thread. It is time to share some of your technique. What glue are you using to set your feathers on the tube. Come on share some of your technique that is what and why this thread is here. You shown a few photos in this forum but never shared any information. I post stuff in this casting forum I always share technique that is what it is for. If I don't want to share then keep it on the show off your pens.

Sorry just had to get that out there.

Bruce, although I don't know how Les does these "beauties". What I can share with you is:
-use "double" sided take on brass tubes
-affix feathers to tube
-use MOD PODGE (gloss) to seal the "feathered" tube
-allow to harden for 1 day
-proceed to cast in usual way

I can't guarantee that they will be as great as Les's casts, but give it try.

Hope you feel better now!

I have no problem with sharing information.

I have taken the initiative to do a lot of work on my own to perfect how to attach feathers to a brass tube to keep them from floating when cast in Poly Resin.

There are people who are just plain lazy and looking for the easy way to achieve something without taking the initiative to try things on their own.

If you give away all your secrets, there are companies that watch for ideas to copy as a lot of us are well aware.
