Fun with the new lathe

Well just a start anyway, I started this the first night and havent got back to it. Its re Mallee and is about 17x8x4. I boltrd the lathe down so its super nice doing these winged bowls as you dont have to hold the lathe down like on my mini

Whoaaa Nolan! You're the kind of guy that I'd love to have for a next door neighbor. Meanwhile, mine golfs.

BTW, I read an article somewhere talking about bolting down a lathe. I've been thinking about doing the same thing. If I remember correctly, the article talked about making certain your floor was level so as not to strain the ways. But, I might just be making this up. (I might have read it in an "Ask Dale" column in WD.)

Nolan nice find on the lathe....Looks like a great bowl going on there too. I got my find delivered last night, a Jet 1642evs with less than 8 hours on it. I can't wait to put it back togeather & turn like the big boys.
