Friendly reminder about computer care

Hey, I had a fun evening fixing my computer, so I thought I'd post a quick heads up about cleaning out your boxes.

Mine's been making noises like a sick Yak in heat for a couple of days, and it turns out one of my fans bit the dust, literally.

I tore the whole thing apart and blew all the dust out, and it occurred to me that I hadn't done that in a long time, which isn't good. The fan had seized up, and while I've got three more in there, it was still running hot because of all the crud in there.

It's back up and running, but I think that was kind of a close call.

Moral? Remember to clean your computers out every now and then. Dust and stuff is a killer to electronics because of the heat that gets generated in there.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming....[]

Remembering to change your AC's filters timely will go a long way towards reducing the amount of dust in your home, and filling up your computer.

Dust mine once a year with the air compressor. Set it at around 15-20psi and dont gett too close with the nozzle. Or if your not as frugal as I, buy some canned air.
