Re: this thread http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40390

I just wonder how many people are affected? Can you please post here?

I want to send you a few wood blanks (probably 6 each) from my stash to get you by until Karl can complete his obligations.

Not knowing how many there is, I might have to ask that you send money for postage (flat rate envelope). I would pay for it if I can but I am also "struggling" right now. I do have a lot of misc wooden blanks I can share. Don't worry, they won't be junk either.

I cannot ship anything until after Christmas since I am going out of town tonight.

If interested, please post here. I will try to provide for as many as I can but no guarantees that I can cover everyone (first come first served).

Please note this offer is NOT for everyone - only for Karl's Blank of the Month subscribers.

Thank you,

Dario,

You are awesome!!!! I am a subscriber to Karl Monthly plan.... Will your blanks be similar to Karls worthless wood stuff? Let me know the shipping cost.

Thanks -

Andrew,

IAP community does this always and I have been a recipient for more times than I can count. It is what makes this place special.

Remember, I probably won't be in this position if not for your (and others) assistance.:)

I have no idea what quantity of pen blanks we're talking about here, but I can contribute a modest amount of good blanks to the effort.

We are in his BotM club, but please don't send us your blanks. We have tons of wood and acrylic blanks and I cast my own stuff, also.

The problem with the entire issue with Karl's club is that I bought the membership last year as a present for my wife's birthday so each month she would get a cool blank to play with. Instead, she asks me what's going on with it pretty frequently, wondering why I haven't tried to get any of the money back. Telling her that Karl's going through tough times but will make it right only works a few times, especially when he won't give us regular updates on when or how 'things will be made right'. Shrugging my shoulders when she asks for more information hasn't really made her feel all warm and fuzzy about the situation.

Steve,

You and your wife (as well as all the other buyers) have all the right to feel the way you do.

That said, I hope we can give him more time to recover. I have been on the same spot not too long ago and I assure you, he doesn't like it one bit either.

These are extra ordinary tough times, I hope we all try to support each other. :)

Thank you,

I'm all for giving him time. In fact, I have done just that for the last six months or so. However, I think that he should be making it a priority to keep us informed. In this, he has not.

Dario, I also have nothing to do with the Blank of the Month. But I want to thank you. This is exactly the sort of thing that makes this group an unbelievable place of any sort. but to find this on the internet is taking it to the realm of fantasy land. All of you are great but at this moment the light shines on Dario. You all can be a pissy and gruff as you want to be. I know better.

Dario Am a member , but I`m pretty sure that Karl will eventually come through . As for needing blanks , at my current turning rate , I will be out in about 250 years . May be in touch with you then . Don`t hesitate to ask if you need help with this . Wayne

Dario--you are awesome! And makes me feel rather ashamed of myself dor some petty things i've done/said in my checkered past. Not a member, and only a small stock myself, but this is the kind of thing we should all be able to help with from time to time.

Dario = Thank You very much for the offer.....As my dad always said "It's only money" as long as you are healthy, that's what count.....I have enough blanks to last me and my grandson (if I ever get one) for years....Thanks for the offer my friend

Dario,

You are a really CLASS act.

If you need help with freight costs or more people ask than you can assist, send me a PM.

Merry Christmas!

And thanks for being YOU!!

I would be willing to help with postage costs and blanks. Seems that we could all find ourselves in a tight spot at some point. I have found the generosity on this site to be phenomenal and I am glad that I am part of this community.

This is avery kind offer and all who read's this post see's that there are member's here that have very big heart's. It is not the fact that Carl has not fullfill his part of the contract's that he made with many member's here. I for one do think he could at least respond to email's that have been sent him.

Dario

Man what can I say. Karl owes my just 3 blanks. Tell him I can wait. If you need more wood blanks just let me know I send you what I have and I'll pay postage.
Thanks
randy

Wow Dario, you're awesome! Now you're making me feel like giving up blanks. Maybe it's time to do a donation raffle for the IAP. Like the others, I have years of blanks. Thanks for the offer, you're a stud!

Thanks guys.

As it turned out...only one expressed interest and so far have not responded to my PM's yet.

The part I am proudest most is the fact that I got more than a dozen offers (online and PM's) from other IAP members to assist either by sending blanks (wood or PR) or money to cover shipping. THAT is marvelous!

Reminds me of Jesus' miracle of loaves and fish which in my personal interpretation is the same (not meant to be blasphemous). For me, the miracle is not the physical multiplication of bread and fish, but the change within us...learning to SHARE. Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks again!!!
