I was getting some blanks together for some friends yesterday and ran across this slab of Rosewood Eye Burl. It had been put back because I just can't bring myself to cut it up. The slab would yeild about 6 truley awesome blanks. Maybe I will break down and resaw it after I get some good pen kits ordered.

It is certainly beautiful. I think I might also not cut it up. I have some wood that I have trouble doing anything with because it is so beautiful. Isn't wood grand?

I can never have too much of that Gary.

It's just a matter of how much I can afford.

Honestly that slab is awesome looking.

No rush no worries.

Just save me a few pieces when you process it.

Ernie you have no ideal how true that is. When I was hunting for the dust collector you bought I found a couple boxs that where hiding. I did not know I had all those whiskey barrel blanks either. It was like Christmas finding my stuff----gee I must be getting old.

You really do have too much wood when something like this can manage to hide.

P.S. You people are NUTS! I would cut that bad boy up in a minute! To me, it looks nice, but would look SO much better wrapped around a tube!

You display a slab of wood like that at shows and you have to beat the woodworks off with a stick-----they aren't the folks who buy the pens.
Now I could take it to the show and sell it as a Christmas Gift--make up a sign-- "The Perfect Gift for the Woodworker in your Life"--heck we are going to offer free gift wrapping the rest of the month at shows anyway.
