Why my name has not appeared on the list of member businesses,
who are donating prizes for the Birthday bash..
I am trying to donate to the Birthday bash prizes.
I say trying, because I'm now on my third contact person after 5 days.
I'm sure the volunteers are very busy and we all appreciate their efforts,
so this post is just to let everyone know that I am trying to be a good neighbor.
I appreciate my friends here and wish everyone well.:)

I will forgive you and accept the prizes into my shop which is heated, so you can be assured that whatever it is, will be safe and rust free.

On a more serious note John...Maybe there is no need for your prizes at this particular time. There is no point in just adding a prize just for the sake of giving it away...or this is my opinion. If there is no need, and everything is covered, then perhaps you can save your stuff and you can help me run a little event here in the summer like last year.:) Everyone knows you are a very generous person, regardless.

John & Gary:

I am sure the Birthday Bash crew intended for you to send thos prizes to me.

How about I PM you my mailing address, you send them to me, and we call it even.

Sounds like a great plan to me.

Johnny, if you would like to donate something, just email Ed (ed4copies) and he'll add your name to the list!

If you're having trouble getting through to Ed, he's rather busy, so PM me and I'll make sure he gets them!

Andrew, with all due respect, I contacted you already.
And you let me know that you passed it to Ed.
And He passed it to someone else I found out today.
So, we'll see how it goes from here. Thanks.

Thanks for the post Jeff!
I have began to wonder.:)

Johnny,
Ed asked me to coordinate, and to make sure he had the right package. He wanted to make sure things were 100% correct, and me, being the type A++++++++ personality that I can be, (many do have a different name for me), I was just helping out. Part of the reason is to get more of us interested, and helping to alleviate from the shoulders of the few, and to hopefullly make us volunteers a wee bit less anxious , or better put, more at ease with dealing with the vendors and their generosity.

So actually, I was just coordinating, and it is way more my mistake than Ed's for the way this got posted.

As far as the donator listing, that sadly I cannot help with

Sincerely
Jerry Sambrook

Thanks for the reply Jerry, I'm sure you are doing all you can.
I appreciate you contacting me and actually moving forward with things!:)
Thanks for your unpaid efforts also, we all appreciate it!

I'm serious John...I will be looking for some people in the summer so we can spur up some activity. Prizes then are as good as prizes now. I'm sure that nobody means to pass the buck, but people get busy, especially when you have people with day jobs and side jobs and the BB has a multitude of things to keep track of, where as in the summer I will be speaking to Cav about running an event similar to last years and because it will just be a single event, it is much easier to manage. I learned a lot from running that event last time and have a solid plan of attack for next time.
Regardless of what you decide to do, it is a good thing that some of the BB people are now aware of your concerns. They are constantly learning new things and ways to deal with them too. Hopefully someone is making a list of all the concerns, problems and successes of previous events.

Jeff,
I hear what you're saying.:) I'm in appreciation every day for the IAP, I have a lot of friends here, and enjoy my time here.
No big deal, it's just that I'm like everyone else..got things to do, too.
Ping me when you get ready, I am always up to help when I can!!

John,

I have your prizes on the list. One of them was awarded today! I will go back and do further research, but I DO apologize that our internal communication was lacking.

Another post will come soon!

I promised a second post, here it is.

Those of us who were planning the bash (about a dozen members), did not ask the membership for prizes, in the last two weeks of January. We should have done this. I will make a note to do so, next year.

On Feb. 2, Jeff (who is the only one who can change the front page) asked us for a list of donors. Andrew and I compared notes and tried to include everyone.

After that, some members became aware of the bash and graciously offered prizes. We tried to accept them and "slot them into" the contests. Apparently, neither Andrew or I notified Jeff. Heck, in some cases, it appears we didn't reply to the prospective donors.

Yet, some prizes that were added that week did get processed.

No, we were not TRYING to miss anyone. Yes, apparently we did. John's prizes were added to my list February 7 at 6:45 PM. Jeff was never informed. My mistake.

John's prizes are both part of the "Trivia grabbag". See "Trivia contest day 9 winner" for a picture.

I will contact Jeff and ask to have John added on the front page, I apologize for not doing this on the evening of the seventh (Sunday) before I went home from the office, where I spent the day working on IAP stuff, listening to the SuperBowl on the radio.

Sorry!

Again, Thanks Ed. No apology needed or expected, but I appreciate it.:)
and..thank you for your unpaid efforts here in all this, I know it's a lot!

I'm good, just wanted to let people know i wasn't turning my back on the Birthday bash stuff.
I don't need my name anywhere, for names sake.

..Just doing my thing this evening and jamming out to All The Right Reasons (Nickelback).

Let me offer my personal apologies for any prize confusion. It's a huge effort to bring this event off and honest mistakes do indeed happen. If you peeked into the back room and saw first hand the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, you'd be amazed!

If you offered a prize and someone has not gotten back to you, please don't take it as an insult! After a few tries if you aren't able to get in touch with someone, PM me and I'll buzz someone's shock collar and we'll get your loot added to the beautiful bunch of prizes.

If you have provided a prize and you are not listed somewhere on the front page, send me a PM and I'll get you added.

To all you Bash planners and participants, THANK YOU and let's keep having fun!!!

Let me add to Jeff's and Ed's posts.

This is a busy event behind the scenes. Andrew, and Ed and his crew do most of the work of making the bash a success.

Gary, I do remember now that you offered a prize. I thought I passed it on to Andrew, but it seems that I must have let it slip through the cracks. I apologize for that.

We have had several members with ideas, changes, and the like contact the other members of the Bash Planning Crew and me during the course of the Bash. If I am crazy enough to coordinate this next year and field the truckload of PM's that hit my in box regularly, I will call on some of you to help us improve the Bash for next year. Oddly enough, when people work on the Bash, they find out that it takes a bit more time than it seems on the surface.

Cav,

Absolutely no need to apologize, my friend. I was serious when I said that I chalked it up to extreme business and probable overload.

Didn't take it as a snub at all. Really.

I was, however, a little miffed that I didn't have a good excuse to hit KJP and then run a buncha board feet of exotics through the bandsaw ;)

Cheers!

Gary

Gary,
If you need an excuse to so, then you can use me as the excuse.
I will pm you my mailing address, so you can have your bandsaw fun and send the outcome to me

Is it illegal to quote oneself? How about immoral?

Aaaaaanyway, I have to add an "and furthermore..."

And furthermore, I just went back to look at my original post (offer to donate) I made and I see I put it in the wrong thread: I replied to Ed's thread asking for help with distribution.

Um, and Ed *did* reply... I was, up until just now, wondering what the heck he PM'd me about. Doh! ;)

Cheers!
