can't remember off hand. I went to a northern tool nearby, and the know-it-all type clerk rattled off what grip is an acronym for, but I was so put off by his personality that I really didn't pay much attention. I tried looking it up, but no luck. If you look at some of the reviews for that tool, one of the reviews is by an obvious turner, as he/she refers to sanding with it. I would never use a tool this cheap for any heavy-duty drilling, but I think that for what we would use it for, it's a pretty darn good price. I've got a HF version that I've been using for quite awhile that I only paid $25 for. After I repositioned a problematic power cord that almost started a fire, I've had no problems with it, and I sand with it almost every day!
I bought two of these, at that price, why not? If nothing else, I'll keep a 2" sanding disc in one and a 3" disc in the other. If one craps out, I'll also have a backup!

I bought one of these the last time they had them on sale and I'll never be w/o another one, but so far no need. This one has been has been holding up very well. And it works great for bowls!!![;)]

LOL...Jim you are bad!

I am saving my pennies for other toys (bigger chuck, woodburning machine/pen, etc.)

This will have to wait [;)] Besides...my refund is not in yet [V]

I bought 4 last time and sold three of them to people at my club at cost. No one has come by and complained so they must all be holding up quite well. I don't use mine that often but it has worked very well each time I have.

I got mine today, and they work great!! There seems to be a little too much run out for accurate drilling, but it's a good thing I won't be using them as drills!!

I never even checked mine for runout since I bought for the single purpose of sanding turnings. I have enough other drills (6) that I don't really need it for drilling.
