We were watching America's Got Talent tonight and they had a group on called New Directions Choir, a choir of ex-homeless ex-military personnel.

1) they were awesome and the audience was rapt. Even before they started singing, as they told their story.

2) Standing ovation from everyone, including Piers.

3) As they told their stories my 14-year old son said "A homeless veteran is just something that should not ever be able to happen.

4) Someone in the audience yelled out "We Love you Veterans!" And that is the truth!

Hopefully it will show up on youtube soon and you all can see it! Awesome stuff!!

I have not seen the show but I agree. "A homeless veteran is just something that should not ever be able to happen."
I am a lucky vet. No disabilities and many understanding friends. Thank you one and all.

Thanks for posting about the performance GK. It was a very special moment in time, and by the time the song was half over, my wife and I had tears running down our faces. These fine Vets proved once more that this Country of ours, no matter how screwed up at times, is worth fighting for, and the human spirit can accomplish anything if challenged.

I agree, they are awesome. But I do have to wonder why this thread is addressed to me. Not trying to revive something that has been put to rest are ya??!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wink::biggrin:
