I am considering making some stoppers with my own cork stopper for the stopper instead of metal and silicone. What would be a food safe glue for the cork to wood dowel cork to cork? Also what would you use to glue down a silicone stopper on the dowel to keep it from sliding? Now that I think about it what would be wrong about using composite cork material like the ones used in fishing rod building other than the food safety issue if any? The composite rings come in different colors which might make the cork stopper really unique.
