Has anyone cast flower pedals in a blank? Did the pedals wilt after time or turn brown? Would the casting resin wilt the pedals?

I have done red roses.

A friend sent me a bunch of very special roses to cast. I casted them, kept one, and sent the rest back.

I have not heard anything about the other blanks, but the one that i have (unturned, still just a blank) has vivid, perfect, red rose petals throughout...

I did notice one thing. It takes ALOT more petals to make a blank than you would think!

There tends to be a lot of voids in petal blanks. I was sent some samples another user cast. Had to paint the tubes, and you saw a fair amount of that paint. In theory, they sound great, in reality, they don't live up to the theory. Just my opinion.

1) The petals have to be fully dry before you cast them or the moisture can cause issues.

2) Be careful when you turn these blanks. The petals easily split like layers so even if the blank is solid it can blow out on you. Use lots of thin CA frequently. And turn very very gently.

Thanks for the heads up! I knew there was a reason i didn't turn that blank yet!
