There is a concentration of pen makers in Florida for sure, my thoughts are with you all. Please heed the warning to evacuate if they've been issued for your area. Category 5 is very concerning.

Same here. Saw on interstate bumper to bumper with cars waiting to get on it. I believe it was 51 or 61 counties under an evacuation notice.
Weather Channel: 175 mph sustained winds, surge up to 9 feet.

We've been through a lot of hurricanes.
Florida and hurricanes are like PB&J.

This one is gonna be a "Grab your ankles" experience!
It could surpass Andrew, Katrina, and Helene.
Galveston's 1900 and Jacksonville's Dora might be challenged.
I hope I'm wrong!

I absolutely hope and pray that you are. I have family in Tampa and in the Ft. Meyers area.

Everyone, please be safe and sane! We want to see you back here.
I hope both of those family members have evacuated. This storm is going to wreck havoc one of those two areas when it makes landfall.
I hate to see it but the track has tightened to that part of Florida.
Our daughter evacuated this morning.

My sis and her hubby "evacuated" the wrong way. They went down to stay with Mom and her husband in the Ft. Meyers area. They are fair ways inland and above the expected flood plane, but it's still going to get really ugly there.

Any word from them yet?
I tried calling someone who hunkered down in Clearwater Beach and the circuit(s) are down.

Here at the farm in NW Marion County, we have no damage; we had lots of rain and palm fronds come down. Neighbors in the Treasure Coast are saying things weren't too bad there. High winds haven't quit yet though.

My son and his family are down in Highland County (he is a deputy). They made it through last night pretty unscathed. No house damage... said he's got a lot branches and such to pick up. Goes back on duty tonight. 97% of his county lost power.

Everyone is safe. Praise God for that! Not sure what damage they will have to deal with, but being alive is the priority.

Weather Channel said Milton was #5 hurricane. Saw news videos of Western North Carolina. They were hit the worst due to the flooding. Consider the rainfall on the mountains and was funneled down to the valleys.

Weathered the storm in place. It wasn't anywhere near what was expected. No damage, just tree debris. The eye came right over us, and the surge caused a lot of flooding in Charlotte Harbor. We are not in the flood zone. Sad to watch the news as people see their homes flood twice in as many weeks. The Milton surge was worse than Helene here.
