First turnable blank

This is my first attempt at turning one of my own blanks. I now look for wood that has openings the entire length of the blank. So this one is a little lopsided with acrylic on one half and none on the other. Either way, I am quite satisfied with my result. Much better stuff to come.

Thank you Curtis, (Mesquite Man) for all the advice. I followed it religiously. I have cast 4 more subsequently that are much cooler.

That looks really neat. Now my question is how did you make it? That's something that I would like to try when I start casting.

I'd say you've done a great job! Are you using PR or Alumilite? I'm finding out the hard way as well about choosing the perfect peices of wood to use too. Keep it up! Lets see how the rest turn out!
