Hi, all -
Took a pen class a number of months ago at a local maker space (shoutout to Goggleworks) and left with a nice walnut slimline. Have spent time since collecting the odd bits and gear to start doing this myself. Had a list of projects for Christmas gifts, but a knee replacement in early December had a more, um, robust, recovery than I was anticipating. So I'm just getting around to Christmas gifts now.
This is the first pen I've made since class, by myself, front to back. It's earmarked for my PiL. Gatsby Grande kit from PSI, a piece of curly cherry leftover from a pie safe I made 25 years ago. I was expecting a whole lot more figure, but I'm still very pleased with the result. Finished with BLO and CA, final polish with Novus three step.
I need to wrap up a bowl I'm making for my MiL before Thursday, but I think I'm making another pen today…
Thanks for looking.
