I finally got some Alumilite picked up from HL and gave it a quick test. Quick is the key word here because it set up SO fast. I couldn't believe it. I borrowed a pot from a local knife maker but I tried it without using the pot, just a single color and a dash of pearl ex, no pressure. I had the blank out of the mold within 10 minutes from first measure / mix.
I didn't plan on using the pot for the first pour and I have no idea how I will get a mold in the pot and under pressure before it's as hard as a rock. I guess I will find out this weekend.
The blank was really cool and dark blue but as it cured it turned like a turquoise color, although the pearl ex sparkles show up. I will post a photo of it when I get it on a slim.

The box says Super Plastic casting resin. The bottles read, Low viscosity , super light, liquid casting plastic.
The first test without pressure turned kind of "soft" from anything I have used. Not" chippy"
at all. The sand paper really dug into it. I also notice minuscule bubbles.
I am currently waiting for my first test under pressure. In fact I am going to take it out now.

I made a slim with the blank. I didn't see any bubbles after turning. Picture later although just a 2 color test.

That's really fast. I use alumilite clear, and you have (on paper) 7 minutes of work time. I've never used it without pressure, and I always leave it in the pot for at least 2 hours. I've put it in the pot up to 6 minutes after mixing, and it's still in liquid form, but getting warm. I'll be interested in seeing your pen.

I didn't get a chance to get back to this thread until now. The blank was better with the pressure. I used a plain 4 slot resin saver mold. The blank had tiny bubbles that were pushing out at the sides. There were none on the top or the bottom. Once I turned the blank and finished the pen there was no sign of any bubbles at all. The first blank that I did without pressure had quite a few very tiny bubbles throughout the blank.. The pressure seemed to resolve that issue.
I was mixing fast and I probably could have stirred it a little bit more. The white color had a few amber streaks I assume from not fully mixing. The blue was not perfect either probably
for the same reason. I was
more intent on getting it pressurized before it set up.My next test I am going to use some of my PR dyes.
