This is my first photo, but wanted to share with my new MN IAP friends this happy accident of turning across the grain near the heart. The wood is from an old oak we took down in the back yard several years ago. While it doesn't show up super well, the effect of rings and grain produce a pattern of opposing rings. I'd be lying if I said I planned this.

I think it looks great! Sometimes serendipity interrupts the tedious planning we do and proves that beauty hides in places we forget to look.

Nice shape to the barrels, and the mating surfaces look spot on.
