Woo Hoo, I just got a request for 30 of my climbing rope pens from the rope manufacturer. They are launching a new line of ropes this spring and want a few for their best customers and sales people. It will be nice to start getting a little cash flow to help support my addiction.

Thanks everybody, It is nice to have someone think enough of your work to actually give you money for it. Sorry James no rope blank for you I had a batch in the pressure pot but they weren't ready when I packed up the box. A special thanks to Nolan for posting his carbon fiber pen that gave me the inspiration.

Sweet sale there Phil! Not too many that the end can't be seen, enough to make a nice little profit from it. Good timing too, I just got this big old box of casing's delivered that are ready for powderocoat!

I sent you an e-mail about them.

No worries! :D They are great looking blanks though. May have to put giving them a try on my ever growing "to do" list. What size rope do you usually start with? I take it you remove the center of the rope and fit the jacket onto the tubes?

James,
They are on 7mm tubes and a comfort kit. The thickness of the sheath or jacket as you called it was too much for most of our kits. The centerband of the comfort pen leaves just a bit of resin over the fibers and they have to be cast twice, once to encase the sheath and then again to add the contrasting color on the ends so it can be tapered down for the nib and finial. I may be able to get this method to work on a Sierra Vista because of its larger size but have to get a bigger diameter rope to try it with.
