This week I turned my first non-spindle item. A small wood container from some hard maple I got out of a Cincinnati subdivision. Not great but I learned a lot. 3-1/2 OD, 3-1/4 ID, 1-7/8 Tall, 1-5/8 Deep.
Thanks, Kate. Now if I can only get it down to that "10 minute bowl" time. Only need to shave about 80 minutes off! LolThat came out absolutely beautiful. Well done
Thanks, Mark. By the time I got to finishing the bottom I was in a happy place so I remembered the advice of the bowl masters.Well done Mike. Nice profile and interesting colors. Compliments on the bottom; sometimes neglected the first few times.
Thanks, Jeff. Will do.Very nice! Keep that photo handy for a new forum section opening up soon.
Thank you, Ken.Very nice indeed.
Thanks, Gary. It wasn't as bad as I thought it may be. You will do fine. The key for me was to understand some of the methods used and just pick one. The big thing for me was realizing I needed to turn the outside first and the inside next. From there it made sense.Awesome! I hope I can do something that nice when I venture down that rabbit hole in a few months...LOL.
Thanks, Chuck. My intent was to do a lidded box for this one. Then I realized I just didn't have enough wood on the lathe to turn from a single piece so this is where I ended up, LOL.Very very nice Mike! If you have any of that Maple left, I watching for a Lidded Box from your shop next.
