Hello Everyone!

It has been a while since I posted a pen. Heck, it had been a while since I got into the shop and made a pen.

This is a commission that I just finished. It is true Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra), fully sleeved with Nikko Japanese Ebonite. The section is the same ebonite. The nib is by Osprey Pens and is a Jowo #6 compatible steel double broad architect (BB-A) grind. The cap and barrel threads are 13mm triple start. This was my first time turning Brazilian Rosewood and it was a real treat. It is very hard (Janka 2790), but turned like butter and smells delicious while being worked. The grain and color variation in this piece was fun to uncover and is astounding to look at. Per the customer's request, the finish is natural matte/satin, no glossy CA. This beautiful piece of wood shines on its own.

Thanks for looking. On to the next!

A real beauty David!! I really like the tone of the woods working together....very rich looking!

Thank you Kevin. I agree, the wood was amazing and that is part of what I love about this. Being old Brazilian Rosewood, the blank was just dark, it was awesome to turn it down and watch all those colors emerge.
