Even though I told them I wasn't old enough to be a grandfather they went ahead and had the baby. My grandson was born on Monday, 8lbs 2oz, 20.5 inches, on Ft. Benning, GA. All are doing well. Going down to visit on Friday.
Are you going to be passing out CIGAR(s)pens?? Which gives me an idea.
Bruce: You ought to make up a nice kit(s) and boxes....Statesman, Emperor, Imperial, etc. and have them laser engraved by Ken Nelsen with baby name and birthday. Present to parents....one for them to keep and one for them to give to son at 18 or 21.
BTW, somewhere, I have links to a couple of sites that would give you some ideas for making wooden baby rattles if you are interested. I made two for my girlfriend's grand baby and they were well received. One was a fancy engraved one for the parents to keep on the mantle and one was a "user" for the little tyke, herself.
Here are a couple to get you thinking. I could not find where I stored my full list.....maybe it is on the other computer?? One or two links that I checked were no longer active and, sadly, I couldn't find the one I was really looking for which was an actual tutorial. Maybe I'll be able to find more information this weekend?
I'm jealous.. I three granddaughters on my wife's side.. her two daughters, but I've been informed I won't get any on my side.. my son doesn't want children, nor does his wife.
